Just a short drive from University Place and a mere 15 minutes away from freeway access, Day Island also enjoys access to water views and it’s own yacht club. Plus, the small community hosts all kinds of events and programs throughout the year!

Several homes on Day Island have waterfront views, and there is a whole host of options when it comes to homes. There are million-dollar homes, mid-range homes, and cute cabins. Whether you’re looking for a place to just enjoy the scenery or you’re hoping to launch a kayak from your backyard, Day Island is just the place!

A brief history:
While exploring the South Sound in 1841, John Wilkes named the island after one of his crewmen, Steven Days. In 1903, the Northern Pacific Railway laid track along the shore and filled in the distance from the south spit to Lemon’s Beach with rocks, turning the island into a peninsula. Originally, the island was used mainly for fishing.
